Little Green Thing
This track was left over from the Pacific Aire sessions, first recorded in 1988, updated a bit in 1991. "Little Green Thing" was a Northwest "hit" during the mid-60's by Seattle organist Dave Lewis. At first it was going to be a solo vibe feature, but I added a band on the second half to provide more energy. |

Dizzy Fingers
Recorded live in 1974 at the old Marine Room in the Olympic Hotel in Seattle, this track features pianist Walt Wagner, piccoloist Cheryl Collier, electric bassist Dan Dean and drummer Jim Ganduglia. Dizzy Fingers, an old piano number by Zez Confrey, was a featured marimba solo for me to show off my "chops". |

Berzerka
After returning to Seattle from L.A. in 1978, I was featured once again on marimba with pianist Walt Wagner and bassist Dan Dean at Casey's (the old Marine Room) in the Olympic Hotel. Berzerka was a musical speed contest with Walt (who wrote the piece) who set me up with impossible tempos - but I managed to stay with him! |

Five Brothers
Recorded live in Brechemin Auditorium on the University of Washington campus in 1999, "Five Brothers" features Dan Dean on electric bass and drummer Greg Campbell. Composed by Gerry Mulligan, this performance of "Five Brothers" was featured on the annual Mallet Head Concert series that I produce for the UW School Of Music every year. |

Softly, As In A Morning Sunrise
This studio recording from 1998 is from a project that was never finished featuring myself on vibes, drums and synthesizer bass. My concept was to produce a live vibe trio album - alone - but only a few of the tunes that I recorded actually worked including this Romberg and Hammerstein standard. Check out another tune from this project, "Turning To Spring", on my MP3 album found on the home page, "Mallet Vault, Volume 1". |
